A day for the arts

Silvermine Arts Center in New Canaan, featured previously in WAG, will host its fourth annual ArtsFest Sept. 20.

From 2 to 4 p.m., the community is invited to the free event that will feature “Ruckus: A Cirque Spectacular,” puppet shows, hands-on art activities and demonstrations from the organization’s School of Art’s faculty.

In addition, participants can tour three new exhibitions featuring work by Jim Flora, Kristina Küster-Witt and Leslie Giuliani.

Irwin Chusid, biographer and co-curator of the Flora exhibition, will speak at 2.

The Silvermine Gallery Shop will expand to the outdoors and feature new handmade jewelry, blown glass and ceramics. There will also be gourmet food trucks on site.

The center is at 1037 Silvermine Road.
