A ‘Wiener’ tale comes full circle

It was back in 2013 that WAG featured Lisa Rosenblum, a New Rochelle native who was fresh off her stint driving the Wienermobile around the country.

As an official Oscar Mayer Hotdogger, Rosenblum had been serving as just one of 12 brand ambassadors, with her travels behind the wheel of that kitschy icon of the American road taking her through the Northwest and Southeast states.

She shared details of that first job after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, everything from her day-to-day responsibilities to funny stories, such as the time she drove the giant hot dog-on-wheels to her grandmother’s apartment in Miami.

Sadly, her stint as a Hotdogger was already done when WAG caught up with her back in her hometown, but good things come to those who wait…

So, it was with a tiny personal connection – and more than a bit of excitement – when this past Friday’s local travels included a sighting of the Wienermobile at the Stop & Shop in Nanuet.

It’s an impressive sight – and one that brought back memories of the adventures of “Lots of Ketchup Lisa.”
