Absolutely ‘Fabulous’

Those who can never get enough of the stylish Kips Bay Decorator Show House – and that includes us – will want to consider a new book devoted to the design institution held each year in Manhattan.

“40 Years of Fabulous” by Steven Stolman (Gibbs Smith) is out this month, offering a tour through a most stylish history.

We’ve been to the show house in past years, so we’re looking forward to the chance not only to tour those editions once again but also to see the entire effort in historic perspective.

We gave you a glimpse into the current – and 43rd annual – edition of the show house here last week, with the full story of our visit set to run in June’s “Passion’s Tides” issue.

We’ll no doubt touch on the show house here again, as it’s such a wealth of design inspiration.

Hopefully, you’ll see for yourself by taking a visit as it’s open daily through June 11. With more than 20 designers and architects creating one-of-a-kind work throughout The Arthur Sachs Mansion on East 66th Street, you’re bound to come away with more than a few ideas for your own home.
