An artful approach to shopping

It’s no surprise that Barbara Galazzo has brought another artistic venture to WAG’s attention.

The director and curator of Gallery 66 NY in Cold Spring has alerted us to what sounds like a unique opportunity to do some shopping for one-of-a-kind treasures.

Rockland Center for the Arts is holding an Affordable Art/Antique Bazaar & Pottery Sale June 24-26 that will feature original work from noted artists.

The sale will feature two- and three-dimensional pieces as well as cultural objects such as masks, baskets and jewelry and a collection of antiques and ceramics from the estate of Rosemary Aiello, a RoCA teacher.

The arts center is said to be making space for its latest phase of development, so is also including some pieces from its permanent collection in this fund-raising effort.

A wine-and-cheese preview ($25) will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. June 24, with the admission-free event running from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 25 and 26. The arts center is at 27 S. Greenbush Road in West Nyack.
