Anticipating Autumn (already)

Sure, we’re in the midst of summer – but before you know it, Labor Day will come and go. School will be back in session, and you’ll be looking for events to fill your autumn weekends. Well, Fall Crafts at Lyndhurst will welcome the season when it again sets up shop on the lovely Lyndhurst grounds in Tarrytown for three days in September.

This is one show not to be missed if you have an eye for the unique. More than 275 artists will be selling their contemporary, one-of-a-kind creations. The options will include limited-edition jewelry, fashion and accessories, furniture and home-décor pieces and functional and sculptural works in ceramics, glass, metal, painting, photography, wood and mixed media.

And though the focus is on the crafts – there will even be demonstrations by a number of exhibitors – the fair also features live entertainment, children’s activities, specialty food vendors and a food court area.

I know I’m marking my calendar already…

Fall Crafts at Lyndhurst will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 21 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 22. Admission is $10, $9 for senior citizens, $4 for children ages 6 to 16 and free for those under age 6. The event will be held rain or shine. Dogs are not permitted. Parking is free. Lyndhurst is at 635 S. Broadway in Tarrytown. For more details, visit artrider.com or call (845) 331-7900.
