Big happenings at RoCA

The offerings at Rockland Center for the Arts this month include an Art and Wellness Festival plus a multimedia “living art gallery.”

Rockland Center for the Arts in West Nyack has a pair of special events set for this month.

Here are the details, as shared by RoCA:

  • Art and Wellness Festival, “an afternoon of artist-driven experiences, performances and workshops exploring wellness and creative expression,” will encompass the RoCA grounds including The Catherine Konner Sculpture Park.

“The Art and Wellness Festival will encourage participants to explore art as a means of connecting body, mind and spirit in this fast-paced, complex world we live in. Through exhibitions, music, meditation and creating art, participants and viewers will be introduced to new, positive directions towards personal health and creativity – as well as connecting to others. Explore the power of art for positive change in physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual health.”

The festival programming will get underway at noon capped by a 4 p.m. performance. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door.

  • “Intimacy Lost: The Living Gallery,” a dance performance, will be held at 5 and 7 p.m. June 22. “Rockland Center for the Arts will present a multimedia living art gallery with Emotions Physical Theatre. Dancers become moving exhibits that come to life through hip hop, ballet and contemporary movement. Guests will walk through a series of miniature shows featuring highly trained dancers as well as stunning props and costumes.”

Tickets are $30.

Rockland Center for the Arts is at 27 S. Greenbush Road.
