Buns-N-Bourbon celebrates burgers and brown spirits

A brand new eatery has added itself to the list of must-try hotspots in the burgeoning Peekskill dining scene.

Buns-N-Bourbon, sitting diagonally across the street from the train station, offers visitors bun food and more than 150 types of brown spirits. Opened by restaurateur Louie Lanza – the man behind other Peekskill establishments, including Hudson Room and Taco Dive Bar – the eatery features more than a dozen types of burgers and hot dog options.

On a recent visit, we sampled a glass of Four Roses bourbon and snacked on an appetizer of tater tot nachos. The delicious plate of tots was smothered in pulled pork, jalapenos, guacamole and sour cream. The perfectly crisp and crunchy tots packed just the right amount of spice, thanks to the jalapenos, and went wonderfully with a sip of bourbon.

Not sure what type of whiskey will best suit your tastes? Don’t worry. We found the bartenders to be expert in picking the perfect drink for even the novice bourbon imbiber.
