Crystal clear

When it comes to luxury brands, a few names simply stand out no matter where in the world they are mentioned.

Baccarat is such a brand. Lovers of the French company’s fine crystal creations will surely want to add another piece to their collection. This time, though, it will be of paper – a commemorative book to be exact.

“Baccarat 1764: Two Hundred and Fifty Years,” a celebration of the company’s history and artistry, will be released by Rizzoli in November.

Design entrepreneur Murray Moss and writer and historian Laurence Benaim have teamed up for the text which looks at everything from historic pieces commissioned by royalty and heads of state to contemporary collaborations with designers such as Philippe Starck. There will also be historic photographs and drawings from the archives touching on everything from its glassblowers to its advertising campaigns to its celebrity clientele.

We can’t wait to delve into what’s destined to be a holiday-gift favorite.
