NuAFrican Theatre: Anansi the Spider Prince and the Origin of Stories

NuAFrikan Theatre presents Anansi the Spider Prince and the Origin of Stories, an urban adaption of Africana folktales. Music, singing, and dancing.  Explore storytelling through magical tales told by a griot, a West African storyteller.  Workshop: explore storytelling through dramatic play
Jerry Pinkney Draws   1 and 2:30 pm

Join this famous picture book artist as he creates illustrations before your eyes.  Audience participation is a must!
Family Gallery Tour, With an Animal-Puppet Guide   1-1:30  pm

Gloria Jean Pinkney:  Singing and Storytelling in the Gallery   2 pm

Aesop Fables Face Painting

Be a lion! A mouse! A fox! Look like your favorite fable character. Get your face painted by Agostino Arts.
Family Art Projects   12 – 4 pm

Make up your own fable and perform it with a “fable-character” puppet you create.

Drop-in creative activities based on the exhibition, Witness:  The Art of Jerry Pinkney. Led by Junior Docents.
