Fighting for a cause

We floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee, sort of, in the last of three exercise programs honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Bloomingdale’s White Plains last Saturday.

In a way the last of the three exercise programs at Bloomingdale’s White Plains honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month was the most difficult for us ladies, most of whom had never boxed before. But the excellent trainer, Aaron Drogoszewski, co-found of ReCover in Manhattan, showed us how to throw a jab (a punch with our non-dominant hand), a cross (a punch with our dominant hand) and a jab-cross combo as well as how to dip or duck to elude an opponent. We also learned that all this is a lot easier if we’re light on our feet.

Let’s just say we have new respect for WBA (Super) lightweight champion Vasyl Lomenchenko.

Look for our profile of Aaron Drogoszewski in January WAG, kicking off a year of fascination.
