Hair extensions raise style, funds

A few months ago, I spoke with Ron Cardillo Sr. for a WAG feature.

The president of SHE by SO.CAP.USA, an all-natural, hair-extension company with headquarters in Mahopac, and I had an interesting chat about hair extensions – and how they’re not just for special occasions.

Part of our conversation touched on what hair means to people, including how it affects their self-confidence. Cardillo spoke eloquently of how the company is dedicated to helping those going through chemotherapy.

He also told me about its Pink Hair For Hope campaign, which to date has included the participation of more than 1,000 salons across the country and raised more than $2.3 million to fight breast cancer.

Well, the eighth annual Pink Hair For Hope is under way – and we’re hearing that the company’s salon partners and clients are already embracing the promotion that continues throughout October.

Those who donate $10 or more to Pink Hair For Hope in participating salons will receive a 100-percent natural, pink SHE by SO.CAP.USA hair extension. It can be professionally bonded or you can select a clip-in extension that can be used again and again.

And you can go as pink as you want, with choices including purplish pink, pink, dark pink, fuchsia and dark fuchsia.

The national initiative donates 100-percent of the net proceeds to various breast cancer charities. Last year, the campaign raised $120,000 for the American Cancer Society.

To find a participating salon, call (877) 855-4247 or visit PinkHairForHope.org or socapusa.com.
