Heading East

WAG will turn the spotlight on the arts in our November issue, so why not get a head start this month with a trip to Fairfield?

The rebranded Fairfield University Art Museum – formerly the Bellarmine Museum of Art – will open “Crafting the Elements: Ceramic Art of Modern Japan from the Collection of Carol and Jeffrey Horvitz” on Sept. 29.

The show, as organizers tell us, “presents choice selection of contemporary Japanese ceramics from one of the most distinguished private collections in America.”

More than 30 works will highlight the way this traditional art form is carried on today.

An opening reception is set for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 28, with the exhibition continuing through Dec. 16 in Bellarmine Hall on the Fairfield campus.

Related programming is scheduled throughout the run.
