‘Here’s mud in your eye!’

It’s time to party like it’s 1899.

Boscobel House & Gardens in Garrison will host “Toast of the Town: An 1800s Cocktail Party” from 4 to 6 p.m. June 27 under a pavilion in its West Meadow.

Participants will hear about the theories and tales related to the origins of the tradition of toasting, while learning about cocktail concoctions of the 19th century.

The program’s guest speaker will be Max Watman, food-and-drink journalist and author, while Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery will provide sample cocktails for all guests and explain what goes into each and why. Live period music will be performed by Thaddeus MacGregor.

Space is limited at the event, open to those ages 21 and older. Boscobel is at 1601 Route 9D.
