The THANN Sanctuary Spa at the Castle Hotel & Spa in Tarrytown sure knows how to throw a party. Was it the hibiscus Champagne that made the intimate evening, which launched the unique property, seem so magical? Or perhaps it was the spring rolls with peanut sauce, the lobster sliders, the shrimp tartlets and the guava jellied candies? Or maybe it was the hand massages, the heated pumice applied to the back of the neck, working out all the kinks, or the graceful yoga enthusiasts from Riverstone Yoga in Tarrytown? What about the demonstration of the spa’s Thai-style, deep-tissue massage under the stars on a cool night warmed by heated lamps?
No doubt it was all of this, plus the new modern stone and wood building that was part of an $11 million renovation of the Castle.
And one thing more: The staffers at THANN (pronounced “Tahn”) are as gracious as they are graceful. That alone would make the spa – the only one of its kind in the United States – unusual. Indeed, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more serene oasis amid the holiday hustle and bustle.
