Honoring a man of style

On Sunday, Nov. 8, the Katonah Museum of Art salutes André Leon Talley with the Himmel Award for his contributions to fashion as a quadruple threat – curator (at the Savannah College of Art and Design), author (of the new “Oscar de la Renta: His Legendary World of Style”), writer and editor (Vogue) and mentor.

The award – named for Betty Himmel, who was instrumental in defining the direction and mission of the Katonah Museum – pays tribute to those who provoke new thinking in the arts and design. It will be presented at 5 p.m. at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Headquarters

Patron tickets, which include the VIP wine reception with Talley, are $250. For the lecture alone, tickets are $50 for museum members, $75 for nonmembers and $15 for students.
