Jurassic parked

The Bruce Museum takes us back to the age of dinosaurs.

Be prepared to journey to a time 200 million years ago when dinosaurs roamed New England. On Thursday, June 22, Jurassic period expert Nicholas G. McDonald, author of “Window Into the Jurassic World,” will speak about the fossil life of Connecticut and Massachusetts during the Age of Dinosaurs. McDonald will take guests back in time to the real Jurassic park, where the shallow waters of a nearby ancient lake teemed with fishes and carnivorous dinosaurs hunted along the shores.

For an hour before the 7 p.m. lecture, the museum offers visitors a chance to bring in their fossils to be identified by a paleontologist. The museum galleries will also be open and light refreshments will be available.

Admission is $15; free for museum members and students with ID.

For reservations, call 203-413-6757 or email Science@brucemuseum.org.
