Those with a love of handmade things are likely regulars at Crafts at Lyndhurst.
Twice a year, the Artrider Productions event fills the grounds of the Tarrytown mansion with hundreds of modern American artists, designers and craftsmen, who showcase their work.
And the next edition, Fall Crafts at Lyndhurst, is set for Sept. 13-15. Once again, there will be some 300 exhibitors participating in the event that combines art and shopping in a most distinctive way.
Those attending will have the chance to meet both emerging and seasoned artists who will be selling their contemporary designs, which often include one-of-a-kind and limited-edition creations.
A prime example of the work? WAG readers may remember our July feature on artist Susan Obrant of Cortlandt Manor, who is among those scheduled to participate.
To get a sense of the diversity, those exhibiting represent the following categories – clay; furniture; glass; jewelry; leather; metal; mixed media; nonwearable fiber; painting; drawing; printmaking; photography; wearable fiber; and wood.
Fall Crafts at Lyndhurst will also include a gourmet specialties section, expanded food court, children’s activities and craft demonstrations, with tours of the hosting site, Lyndhurst, also available. Since its inception 34 years ago, Crafts at Lyndhurst has raised almost $4 million for the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
The show will be held under tents, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 13 and 15 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 14. Lyndhurst is at 635 S. Broadway.
