Music of the Italian Baroque

Ars Antiqua will offer music of the Italian baroque during its next concert, set for Nov. 9 in Chappaqua.

Mark Kramer, artistic director of Ars Antiqua, has announced details of the group’s next concert, which will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 in the historic Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Chappaqua.

Here’s how Kramer – previously featured in our pages –describes the performance:

“Join us for a rare opportunity to hear the renowned TENET, vocal artists whose choir of ten singers and soloists will join the Ars Antiqua Period Instrument Orchestra in virtuosic choral and chamber works of the Italian Baroque. The program, ‘Arcadia in the Cathedral,’ will feature newly discovered Baroque music presented in an entirely adventurous and beautiful context.”

The program will be followed by a buffet of Italian pastries and confections and coffee.

Tickets are $35 and will be available at the door the evening of the performance. The ticket desk will open at 7. The church is at 191 S. Greeley Ave.
