One month, three shows

Barbara Galazzo of Gallery 66 NY in Cold Spring has let us know that her exhibition schedule continues in November with a trio of shows, all set to open Nov. 6.

Here is how they are each described, in part, by Galazzo:

  • “In creating their new exhibit for Gallery A, ‘Cross-Pollination: A Dialog between Mediums,’ artists Cali Gorevic and Julie Anne Mann drew mutual inspiration from each other’s remarkable work. The result is an original collaboration, in which Gorevic’s intricate monochromatic portraits of trees, vines and leaves complement, and are complemented by, Mann’s ‘botanicals’ – sculptures and wall hangings that delicately incorporate actual pieces of nature.
  • “Gallery B will feature 30 artists in ‘A Vessel by Any Other Name.’ The vessel is an extraordinary and often under appreciated art form. Typically requiring rigor, discipline, technical expertise and years, if not decades, of training, the many methods of vessel making continue to transform and evolve. Keeping the upcoming holidays in mind, artists from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania demonstrate that functional vessels can be playful and artistic. From ceramic vases to felted fiber vessels and wire perfume bottles these juried artists exhibit function, fun and the unusual.
  • Gallery C features ‘The Second Saturn: Return to the Sea.’ Ceramic artist Janine Sopp exhibits clay as a gesture, a glimpse, a glimmer of one’s own curious reflection in everything that is. After a lifetime of collecting sea treasures from several continents, Janine saw the similarities and ironies on each shoreline and how life itself was a constant self-reflection and a repetition of situations driven by life cycles.”

The opening reception will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 6, with the shows continuing through Nov. 29.
