Seeking something special

For those on a search for thoughtful gifts that aren’t what you see over and over again, CraftWestport at Staples High School offers an array of artistic options.

Presented by the Westport Young Woman’s League and directed by Artrider Productions, the show will feature handcrafted creations by 160 contemporary American craft artists.

One of the participants will be Danielle Gori-Montanelli, who will be showcasing her jewelry and accessories in felt. WAG introduced you to the Sarah Lawrence College graduate as part of our coverage of the prestigious “LOOT: MAD About Jewelry 2013” show at the Museum of Arts and Design. We plan to share more of her story in our December “Gems” issue, but in the meantime, check out her work in Westport. It’s bright, playful – and definitely unexpected. Sounds like the ideal gift, right?

The show will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 9 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 10. Staples High School is at 70 North Ave.
