With the nation still reeling from the Orlando shooting, there’s a new book that might offer a path to understanding. “When Your Child Is Gay” (Sterling) – by gay rights blogger and former Chappaqua resident Wesley Cullen Davidson and Dr. Jonathan L. Tobkes – pairs real-life stories with insights from Tobkes, a New York City-based psychiatrist who is gay.
Davidson is a mother who accidentally discovered her son was gay. Part of the impetus for her blog and the book was how she navigated the discovery to maintain a loving relationship with him.
“I wrote this book,” she says, “to help parents and kids through similar difficult situations.”
