Showing them the money

Lehman College Art Gallery in the Bronx holds a family day of art tours and workshops.

In April WAG’s “Fascinating Friends” issue, managing editor Bob Rozycki offers http://www.wagmag.com/the-art-of-money/ his take on the new “Mediums of Exchange” exhibit at Lehman College Art Gallery in the Bronx, which explores the relationship of art and money in works made in many cases of cancelled greenbacks. Now you – and the junior Picassos in your life (ages 3 through 12) – can tour the show and try your hand at similar creations in a day of family fun, Sunday, April 7. Tour from 11 to 11:45 a.m., then create origami-style pieces similar to Eugenio Merino’s work in the exhibit from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. before parading your creations around.

If you have a child in need of access accommodations, they are available upon request. Contact Deborah Yasinsky, curator of education, at deborah.yasinsky1@lehman.cuny.edu or 718-960-8731.

The gallery is in the Fine Arts Building of the college, 250 Bedford Park Blvd. West.
