Friends of Karen had its gala benefit, “South Beach Comes to Life!”, at Life: The Place To Be, in Ardsley. Emceed by NBC correspondent Kate Snow, the evening honored volunteers Jacqueline Holtzer and Jackie Holzinger of North Salem. Some 240 guests attended raising more than $250,000 to provide emotional, financial and advocacy support for children with life threatening illnesses and their families
