If your St. Patrick’s Day plans call for an appletini as opposed to green beer, you may be interested in the March WAGwear feature on high design pieces that say, “Kiss me, I’m stylish.” These posh products are awash with the greens of Irish festivites – more specifically, emerald, the 2013 Color of the Year as named by the Pantone Color Institute.
In honor of the hue and luxurious gemstone – a favorite of Cleopatra as well as the woman who played her on the silver screen 2,000 years later, Elizabeth Taylor – I devoted a feature to discuss the history of the emerald and its place in pop culture.
