The power of Jillian Dyson’s beauty

One of Jillian Marie Dyson’s recent marine works.

We first encountered Jilly Dyson a few years ago as a potential subject for WAG http://www.wagmag.com/?s=Jilly+Dyson and are proud to say that what began as a professional acquaintance has deepened into a friendship. With her blue eyes and silvery hair, she has something of the look of a sea nymph. And that’s as it should be, since her richly textured marine paintings echo Homer and Turner. The Greenwich-based artist – by way of New Zealand and Australia – is having a show of her works, “The Power of Beauty,” June 11 through July 6 at Oak & Oil in Katonah.

The opening reception Saturday is from 6 to 8:30 p.m. For more, visit oakandoil.com. – Georgette Gouveia
