Walking on, with hope in their hearts

For the Breast Cancer Alliance, which has awarded $20 million in grants since its founding in 1996 to improve survival rates and quality of life for those battling the disease, every month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, not just October.

The alliance’s November luncheon-fashion show at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich is always a highlight of the local social season, one that appears in WAG’s Watch section (people pages).

And this Sunday, April 26, Greenwich Avenue will once again be in the pink as participants gather for the alliance’s 10th annual “Walk for Hope” and Wellness Fair. Check-in and breakfast complimentary of Z Hospitality and PepsiCo start at 10:30 a.m. outside Richards of Greenwich, 359 Greenwich Ave. Then it’s a one-mile walk up Mason Street and down Greenwich Avenue. Dine at Mediterraneo and Terra afterward, and the restaurants will take 10 percent off your bill and give 10 percent to the alliance, which invests in innovative research, breast surgery fellowships, regional education, dignified support and screening for the underserved.

To register, visit bca.donorpages.com/walkforhope2015/. Tickets are $20; $10 for students. Children under age 7 are admitted free. (And pooches are welcomed.)
