A great workout, ‘barre’ none

Neiman Marcus Westchester celebrated its new active-wear shop, NM Active, last Friday with a barre class co-sponsored by Courtyard Travel and Oceania Cruises, a foodie cruise line that nonetheless collaborates with Canyon Ranch on nutritious but still scrumptious fare.

Lori Laub – who teaches at The RITE Method Barre Studio in Rye Brook, the Hitt*Barre Studio in the House of Sports in Ardsley and the Saw Mill Club in Mount Kisco – lead the class, guiding us through small, subtle but strenuous moves designed to sculpt the body. It was a challenge that was revelatory. We realized that whatever your body type or fitness level, everyone can and should strive to have good form, as that will enable you to get the most out of a workout.

Afterward, we felt we earned the light bites from the luxe retailer as well as the mini pampering from its RéVive skincare line.
