A new address for Patricia’s Presents

Patricia’s Presents is on the move, with Patricia Polk relocating her Ridgefield gift shop to Bethel.

WAG still recalls the sense of whimsy found at Patricia’s Presents.

We first visited the Ridgefield boutique in early 2015, with a story running in that year’s animal-themed issue. It was the perfect fit, as owner Patricia Polk’s merchandise was a dazzling mix of goods for animal lovers of all kinds. There was a pillow featuring a cat wearing a necklace, a pin sporting a beaded fox head, leopard-print ballet flats and a pink flamingo keychain.

But it wasn’t all cute and charming:  There were also sophisticated equestrian-themed prints and classic needlepoint pillows paying homage to all kinds of dog breeds.

In addition, we found a selection of distinctive women’s clothing and jewelry, some of the latter designed by Polk herself. It all added up to Patricia’s Presents being considered an ideal destination when looking for an out-of-the-ordinary gift.

We’ve kept up with Polk over the years, sharing news of her special events. Most recently, she got in touch with some big news: the relocation from a small cluster of shops along Ethan Allen Highway (Route 7) to the heart of Bethel.

Polk has been working on creating “an enhanced shopping experience” in the “sparkling new space.” Expect to find the familiar merchandise with expanded offerings, including gifts for men.

The new space is at 164 Greenwood Ave.

Check the website for more details, including hours of operation. A grand opening is scheduled for September.

We wish Polk the best in this new phase of her business – and know we’ll be heading to Bethel to check it all out soon.
