A silver day

Breast Cancer Alliance celebrates 25 years of grants, research and saving lives.

All we can say it was good to be back live at the Breast Cancer Alliance Luncheon Oct. 20, celebrating 25 years of the Greenwich-based organization providing mammograms for the underserved, funding research and generally saving lives. On a day more like summer than autumn, some 600 women, and a few good men, gathered under a tent at the historic Westchester Country Club in Harrison for a lunch of grilled lemon herb chicken and Biltmore salad, accompanied by Prosecco from Bellissima and mini cupcakes with pink icing. (The tables were graced with arrangements of pink roses and white hydrangeas, courtesy of McArdle’s Floral & Garden Design in Greenwich.) Hundreds more took part on Zoom as Richards once again hosted a fashion show in neutrals, blues and metallic colors from Dolce & Gabbana, Lafayette 148, Loro Piana, Veronica Beard, Raffi, Brunello Cucinelli, Michael Kors, Carolina Herrera, Bottega Veneta, Peter Cohen, Valentino and Moncler.

As usual the best was saved for last – breast cancers survivors taking to the runway for the “Models of Inspiration” show.
