A sophisticated touch to the holiday table

Tuscanini Parchment Crackers arrive just in time for holiday entertaining.

WAG is always up for sampling a new product, especially something billed as a sophisticated new item ideal for entertaining.

The new Tuscanini Parchment Crackers are said to “bring the sun-kissed taste of Italy to America’s table” – or in our case, desk.

A sample package containing three boxes of the crackers arrived in the WAG office and was shared by staffers on a recent afternoon.

Maybe it was the timing – lunch long ago and dinner not yet within sight – but those crackers disappeared in no time.

We tried each of three handmade varieties from the brand that also makes genuine brick wood oven personal pizzas, authentic home-style sauces and handcrafted biscotti.

The paper-thin crackers are imported from “the idyllic island of Sardinia off the sunny Italian coast.” While they did indeed crumble easily, there were no complaints as to the flavor.

And, we note, they are a said to be a healthy alternative to chips or other crackers, with the authentic Italian flavor created with just five simple ingredients and 120 calories per serving.

Each of the varieties – olive oil, olive oil with rosemary and olive oil with oregano – are also GMO-free.

They are said to be ideal for serving with antipasto or a cheese plate or to complement an elegant meal, ideas for next time.

For now, we just snacked away – and enjoyed them quite a bit.

Tuscanini Parchment Crackers are sold in 3.5-ounce packs ($4.99), available at Amazon, Fresh Direct, major supermarket chains and independent grocers as well as to upscale restaurants.
