Doors close but art lives on

The ArtFull Living Designer Show House, featured in our June issue, is soon to end its stylish run at Glassbury Court in Cold Spring.

The show house, a collaboration between the venue and Cold Spring Arts, has been putting the spotlight on the 30-plus artists and artisans of the Hudson Valley who teamed up with the region’s best interior designers to demonstrate how creatively one can live with art.

Come Oct. 14, the show house will end its run, but you can take some of it home with you.

The artwork is for sale, with all proceeds going to charity. A silent auction is running during the last three days of the house, culminating with a closing reception at 6 p.m. Oct. 14. Final bidding, and a wine reception, will continue until 7:30 p.m. Phone bids can be placed by calling (845) 265-9600 or (914) 815-3133.

Profits from the auction will be given to two organizations, the Born This Way Foundation and Garrison Art Center. Both organizations focus on the empowerment of children through art and education. The show house remains open from noon to 4 p.m. in its final days. It’s at 3370 Albany Post Road (Route 9). The suggested donation is $10.

And why not combine a trip to the show house with Cold Spring Arts’ Open Studios, which run throughout this weekend?
