For gifts as unique as their creator

It was back in our February issue, which put the spotlight on “Passionate Pursuits,” that we introduced our readers to Gina Bratter.

It was a pleasure to share her story, from her earliest days in America after her family left their native Italy to settle in New York City, through today, when she is an artist who takes the word “multimedia” to a whole new plateau. I enjoyed our meeting, when she shared details of her education, her development as an artist, her family and her career’s many twists and turns.

Throughout, though, her passion for her art was strikingly vivid. It was in her words, her adornments (she makes both clothing and jewelry) and her surroundings – her Dobbs Ferry home is a virtual gallery of her work.

It was a real pleasure to hear from her earlier this week, when she let me know that she would again be opening up her home showroom to host a “Holiday Boutique.”

From Nov. 6 through Dec. 23, Bratter will be showcasing — by appointment — her one-of-a-kind gifts for women, including handcrafted jewelry, clothing, knitwear, handbags and scarves, as well as watercolors and home-décor items. Bratter notes, additionally, that all items are discounted.

You will definitely want to book in, bring a friend and enjoy a creative approach to holiday shopping.
