Gaga over Tiffany diamonds

When it comes to glam, Noo Yawkas like to stick together. And so it was that Tiffany & Co. teamed with Lady Gaga to create a wintry vision for Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards.

Gaga – nominated for best actress in a drama and winner for best song (“Shallow”) for her work in “A Star Is Born” – accented her strapless periwinkle Valentino ball-gown, with its distinctive balloon sleeves and sweeping dress – with periwinkle hair and the Tiffany Aurora Necklace.

Reed Krakoff, the luxe silver and jewelry emporium’s chief artistic officer, said in a statement the company was “thrilled to dress our friend, fellow native New Yorker Lady Gaga” for the Globes, hailing her as “a visionary artist who truly exemplifies creativity and iconic style.”

She’s also a woman her knows her film and fashion history. The Valentino was a homage to the periwinkle sweetheart gown and dusky complementary bolero Judy Garland donned for the brilliant 1954 version of “A Star Is Born.”

“The Tiffany Aurora necklace, specially crafted for Lady Gaga and (the) Globes, captures the majestic nature of her dress perfectly,” stylists Sandra Amador and Tom Eerebout said in a statement. “Because this is such a special moment – her first major award show of the season – we wanted the jewelry and dress to complement each other. What could be more fitting than this exquisite custom piece, named after the goddess of dawn and a cluster of stars, to mark Lady Gaga’s wonderful work in ‘A Star is Born’?”

The star completed her look with Tiffany & Co. diamond cluster earrings and three Tiffany diamond bracelets, including a mixed-cluster piece featuring more than 12 carats of pear-shaped, marquise and round brilliant diamonds.
