Happy Anniversary

It seems every time we turn around we hear about yet another project Westchester-based performance artist Marcy B. Freedman is involved in.

I wrote about Freedman last October in WAG, and we’ve had plenty of opportunities to update you since.

I last checked in to tell you about her participation in Peekskill Open Studios in early June.

And our WAG editor, Georgette Gouveia, had previously shared the tip that Freedman was curating “Ups and Downs,” which – don’t miss it – will open July 14 and continue through Aug. 25 at the Blue Door Gallery in Yonkers.

Now, it’s time to mark the 10th anniversary of the artistic collaboration between Freedman and Gene Panczenko (aka GeneFree) with a celebration.

“He Shot, She Shot: The Video Art of GeneFree,” an exhibition of videos and video posters, is continuing through Aug. 31 in the Ottinger Program Room of the Croton Free Library, at 171 Cleveland Drive in Croton-on-Hudson.

There will be a reception for the exhibition from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. July 12, followed by an hourlong discussion and screening.

For more details, call (914) 271-5891 or email mbf@bestweb.net.

And stay tuned; we’re sure to hear more from Freedman… soon!
