Happy Thanksgiving

Time for holiday traditions and being grateful for our readers.

Time once again for that grand tradition – of turkey and stuffing (and stuffing ourselves); of watching “The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” football and “The National Dog Show”; of getting primed for Black Friday deals and entertaining out-of-town guests for the weekend.

Might we suggest hopping aboard the New York Botanical Garden’s “Holiday Train Show”? This year, the beloved tradition of locomotives chugging around 175 New York City landmarks replicated in bark, leaves and other plant materials and arranged in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory is joined by a salute to Lower Manhattan. Zip by the historic Battery Maritime Building, vintage ferryboats, the Battery Park Control House, the Woolworth Building, One World Trade Center, the Oculus and the Terminal Warehouse. An all-new introductory video includes interviews with Applied Imagination staff and footage from its Alexandria, Kentucky, workshop, where botanical New York comes to life. Can’t get there this weekend? The show’s on through. Jan. 21.

Whatever you do this holiday weekend, please know that we at WAG are grateful for you, our readers.

Happy Thanksgiving.
