Hey Stamford, let’s eat

Get ready for two days of food and fun in downtown Stamford.

Get ready for a two-day festival filled with food and entertainment.

The second-annual Hey Stamford! Food Festival will run Aug. 25 and Aug. 26 at Mill River Park in downtown Stamford from 1 to 9 p.m.

Over the course of the festival, more than 40 area food trucks and vendors will be on-site, while craft and standard beer selections will be provided by Norwalk bar and restaurant The Blind Rhino.

“The goal with the event is to highlight local businesses, many of them food trucks and provide a platform for them to reach a large, local audience,” said PJ Kennedy, the blogger behind Hey Stamford.

A kid’s area will feature a roaming railroad, face painters, glitter tattoo artists, balloon artists and painting lessons.

Aug. 25 will see a performance by rapper Tone Loc, musical group Party Rock and a series of DJs. Aug. 26 will feature country musician Dylan Scott and Mason Ramsey, the 11-year-old you may recall from the viral video featuring the “Walmart Yodeler.”

The all-ages event will be held rain or shine, and single- and two-day tickets are available.

The festival was launched last year by Parachute Concerts and Hey Stamford, an online food and entertainment guide. Last year’s event saw nearly 5,000 patrons head to Mill River Park to enjoy the festivities.
