Lammy nomination for WAG editor

WAG editor Georgette Gouveia is up for a Lammy (Lambda Literary Award) for her new novel, “The Penalty for Holding.”

It is with delight and gratitude that I announce that I’ve been nominated for a Lambda Literary Award for my novel “The Penalty for Holding,” the second in my series of books dealing with power and rivalries, “The Games Men Play.”

The Lammys, as they’re called, are a group of awards in various fiction and nonfiction categories celebrating works with LGBT themes. This year’s winners will be announced June 4 at New York University’s Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.

“The Penalty for Holding” (Less Than Three Press) is the story of a gay, biracial quarterback’s search for identity in the NFL. It’s also a timely tale of violence in the workplace, the crisis of leadership in the world today and possession and dispossession among those who must bridge two cultures – and often wind up belonging to neither.

And now “TPFH” up for a Lammy. You know how at the Oscars they always say, “It’s a thrill just to be nominated”?

Well, it turns out that is entirely true.
