It’s always a treat to walk a major design show, as it offers the chance to see the latest trends, creations and personalities of the industry.
And the Architectural Digest Design Show, held recently on Piers 92 & 94 in Manhattan, also offered the chance to catch up with a few locals we’ve featured before, as well as meet some new people we hope to work with in the future.
When it came to familiar faces, we were pleased to see Ethan Abramson, who works out of Mamaroneck, and Thomas Throop, whose Black Creek Designs is based in New Canaan. We had worked with both these furniture designers before and delighted in hearing about their new materials, approaches and plans.
We were also quite impressed by the stunningly bold photography of Allyson Monson, based in Redding, and Architectural Minerals & Stone, a family-operated company out of Irvington.
We stopped by The Shade Store, headquartered in Port Chester, and Hunter Douglas, based in Pearl River, as well as Arquitex, from Mamaroneck, hearing a bit about each of their latest offerings.
