Madeline Weinrib’s next chapter…

Luxury carpet and textile designer Madeline Weinrib is in transition. A sale will mark the closing of her New York showroom, as she turns her focus back to her artistic roots.

Madeline Weinrib is making a move.

The luxury carpet and textile designer has announced that she is closing her showrooms in Manhattan and San Francisco in June.

The closings will allow Weinrib, who grew up in New Rochelle, to “focus her time on artistic pursuits and bespoke projects, transitioning away from her larger iconic rug and textile business,” a press release explains.

It further details that one of her new collaborations will focus on carpets with the estate of her friend Rene Ricard. She will also begin designing products exclusively for the shop at the boutique hotel El Fenn in Marrakech, where she recently became a partner.

The designer will hold a sale in the Manhattan showroom, 126 Fifth Ave. (2nd floor), from May 8 through 19. An e-commerce sale will follow from May 25 through June 15.

Weinrib, a member of the ABC Carpet & Home founding family, will be offering her iconic hand-knotted Tibetan wool carpets, cotton rugs, vintage Moroccan carpets, pillows, fabrics by the yard, tabletop, fashion accessories and vintage finds sourced during her travels. Prices will range from 50 to 80 percent off retail.

The sale will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays and Fridays; 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays; and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 19.
