Music and dance

The New York Virtuoso Singers say it with music when they perform choral works about the pleasures and perils of romance 8 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Kaufman Music Center in Manhattan. Selections will range from Josquin des Prez to Cole Porter, from Monteverdi to Thea Musgrave. The center’s Merkin Concert Hall is at 129 W. 67th St. (between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue). The night before (yes, that would be Feb. 13), Westchester Ballroom in Mount Kisco hosts a “Valentine’s Ball” with ballroom dancing, a buffet dinner, DJ Antonio Rosa, Champagne, Valentine’s cake and raffles. Wear red and join the fun from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $17. Westchester Ballroom is at 136 Radio Circle. Reservations are required and can be made at 914-773-7773.
