Orchestra hits its season-opening notes

The Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra opens its new season with an Oct. 20 program featuring flutist Marcia Gates.

Those in the mood to hit the road for a bit of music will want to note that the Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra will soon open its 14thseason.

“Favorite works” by Mozart and Beethoven featuring Marcia Gates, principal flutist with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, will be the focus of the Oct. 20 program, which gets underway at 3 p.m. at the Rhinebeck High School Auditorium, 45 N. Park Road. Tickets for the concert are $28 for adults, $23 for senior citizens and $5 for students.
