We were swooning with distress when we heard that Nacho Figueras – Argentine polo star, Ralph Lauren Polo spokes-model and all-around nice guy – broke a hip engaging in the demanding, dynamic sport. Then we saw him on News 4 New York at 7’s evening lifestyle hour, and let’s put it this way: Everyone should break a hip so beautifully. Now we’re back just to swooning in rapture.
Nacho was asked by anchor Roseanne Colletti about playing polo recently with Prince Harry at the Greenwich Polo Club. (He’s also played with Prince William.) So who’s the better player? Ever the diplomat, Nacho replied that they’re both very different . He spoke of the honor of playing for Prince Harry’s Sentebale charity, which aids disadvantaged children in Lesotho, and of being named a Sentebale ambassador.
You get the sense that Nacho is truly grateful for all the opportunities that have come his way. Of working with Westchester resident Ralph Lauren, Nacho said he’s not representing a brand, he’s representing a man. Gorgeous and humble, too.
