The seventh annual Yonkers Film Festival or “YoFiFest” is back Friday, Nov. 1, featuring films from around the world and right here at home. It continues for 10 days with screenings of documentaries, featured films, shorts, animation, music videos, web series and student work. This year’s YoFiFest includes a record number of films with connections to Westchester. Towns represented at the festival include Cortland Manor, Croton-Harmon, Dobbs Ferry, Harrison, Hartsdale, Hastings on Hudson, Mamaroneck, New Rochelle, Peekskill, Scarsdale, South Salem, Tarrytown, Tuckahoe, White Plains, and Yonkers.
The traditional “Taste of Yonkers” will open the festival with offerings from local restaurants followed by a party hosted by Zuppa Restaurant.
The screenings will take place at the Riverfront Library’s Atrium Theatre and the YoFi Digital Media Arts Center.
For those who are eager to get the festival started, there will be a “pre-festival” kickoff Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Yofi Digital Media Arts Center with free screenings of family-friendly films.
