Sip & Shop for a cause

Shop for the fight against cancer at the Sip & Shop Girls’ Night Out Boutique on Oct. 24.

Enjoy an evening with friends Oct. 24 with Sip & Shop Girls’ Night Out Boutique at Innis Arden Golf Club in Old Greenwich. There will be a wine tasting courtesy of Putnam & Vine and more than 30 local purveyors of clothing, accessories, gourmet food, beauty, skincare and more. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Swim Across America Fairfield County to benefit the Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy (ACGT), a nonprofit headquartered in Stamford.

“We created the first Sip & Shop event in 2016 to bring together and foster the business ventures of these moms we’ve met along the way,” said Roseann Benedict, one of the organizers of the Sip & Shop Girls’ Night Out Boutique. “Through these events, we are able to raise money for Swim Across America Fairfield County, a local charity that supports gene therapy research to fight cancer – a disease that has touched too many of our friends.”

“Greenwich is home to a vibrant community of moms who met when their children were young, often before starting their own ventures.” said Nancy Carr, co-organizer of the event. “Just as they taught their children the value of cooperation and teamwork, these women are supporting each other to make everyone more successful. As parents who have volunteered in the past and continue to do so, these moms also realize the importance of giving back to the community.”

Businesses represented include Monogram Mary, Paper & Stitch and Herde de Ferme, WAG’s sister company.

The Sip & Shop Girls’ Night Boutique is set for 6 to 9 p.m. at the club, 120 Tomac Ave. Admission is free and the event includes a cash bar. No denim permitted.
