Supporting the blue economy

An upcoming art happening in Wilton draws attention to the blue economy and sustainable luxury.

Join Weston’s Ports of Cause Friday, May 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. for “Art. Ocean. Energy.,” an immersive experience set amid browngrotta arts’ curated collection of works in “Blue/Green: color/code/context.” The mixed media exhibit features 50 international artists who call attention to a sustainable use of the ocean’s resources while protecting its ecosystem.

During the cocktail party, Arthur Bavelas, founder of the Bavelas Group Family Office & Family Office Insights in New York, will talk about “How sustainable innovation is driving the blue economy while benefiting our oceans and natural resources.”

All proceeds from ticket sales, as well as 10 percent of artwork and catalog sales will benefit Ports of Cause, a nonprofit designed to reduce the effects of luxury living and everyday lifestyles on the oceans.

Browngrotta arts is at 276 Ridgefield Road in Wilton. Tickets are $50. For tickets, call Joyce Clear at 203-858-3432 or email joyce@portsofcause.net.
