Tiffany heeds call of the sea

If it’s April, it must be time for Tiffany & Co.’s annual Blue Book Collection. This is the first Blue Book Collection created by new design director Francesca Amfitheatrof (WAG, September, 2014), who must’ve anticipated our longing for the beach after winter’s harshness. She has created a treasure trove called “The Art of the Sea” that mimics marine colors, movements and textures. This is evident in the waves of diamonds that adorn cuff bracelets anchored in 18-karat white and yellow gold that looked so fetching on the wrists of Emma Stone as the Feb. 22 Academy Awards.

Two-time Oscar winner and presenter Cate Blanchett stunned in a necklace of aquamarines and turquoise with diamonds in a platinum setting that suggests the azure palette and pebbly quality of the ocean floor.

Meanwhile, a bracelet with a 21.04-carat round aquamarine in a sea of mixed-cut gemstones – including spessarites, tsavorites, sapphires and diamonds with an underlay of aquamarines in 18-karat yellow and white gold – echoes the saturated richness of aquatic life.

We say, We’re ready to set sail.
