Who doesn’t love to flip through a book by Martha Stewart? It’s always a journey into a world of lovely scenes, a bit of fun and glamour – and when the topic is food, a wealth of mouth-watering recipes.

Well, we’re in luck. The latest book from the lifestyle expert – and Bedford resident – is out this week.

“Martha’s American Food” (Clarkson Potter) is subtitled “A celebration of our nation’s most treasured dishes from coast to coast.”

And it is. The book offers a whirlwind of a journey through America’s culinary treasures, from cedar plank-roasted salmon to Texas chili, from lobster chowder to shrimp and grits. And just in time for warmer weather, we get Martha’s take on the classic American burger, lemonade and double-crust apple pie.

Dig in!

(And WAG readers can meet the author at the following book signings planned for the metro area: April 24, 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Williams-Sonoma in Columbus Circle, Manhattan; 5 to 7 p.m. May 2 at Barnes & Noble in Princeton, N.J.; and 6 to 8 p.m. at Sur La Table in Manhasset, N.Y.).
