Another opening, another show

A reception for the Marylyn Dintenfass exhibition is set for May 27 at the Garrison Art Center.

An opening celebration for “Ocular.Echo,” an exhibition of work by Marylyn Dintenfass, will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. May 27 at the center.

Here’s how it’s being described:

“This contemporary painting exhibition is comprised of a selection of the artist’s work from 2010 to 2016, all of which depict the circle. This motif has always played a key role in Dintenfass’ oeuvre and the works in this exhibition will strike viewers with their lush, dense and highly saturated surfaces. It is an exciting and important opportunity for us to be exhibiting Dintenfass’ paintings, which serve as a lens for the artist to explore both the emotional and psychological engagement with the natural world.”

Of note, the advance materials add, “We are honored to be exhibiting such a highly acclaimed artist and are also grateful to both Marylyn Dintenfass and her husband, John Driscoll, who were among the founding members of our Leadership Circle in 2011, which allowed the Art Center to launch new initiatives in gallery programming in addition to making improvements within the gallery space.”

The exhibition continues through June 18. The Garrison Art Center is at 23 Garrison’s Landing.
