Celebrate Cinco De Mayo in White Plains

The city joins forces with Heineken USA, Blockheads and its Business Improvement District for a day and night of fiesta.

Let loose and order a margarita (or two) this Saturday, May 5.

White Plains-based Heineken USA and Blockheads, a Cal-Mex eatery, are co-hosting “The Ultimate Cinco De Mayo Celebration,” from 7 to 10 p.m. at Blockheads restaurant. Guests can order delicious dishes, while sipping on drink specials from Heineken USA’s Mexican beer imports. Drink specials (for those 21 and older) include $3 Tecate and Tecate Light Cans, $4 Dos Equis Lager and Dos Equis Ambar Bottles and $5 frozen margaritas. (Yum.) Raffles and giveaways will be held throughout the evening.

Earlier that day, from 2 to 7 p.m., the White Plains Business Improvement District (BID) is hosting a family-friendly Cinco De Mayo celebration – rain or shine – in downtown White Plains. Dance the day away or just enjoy the performances of Mariachi Sol Mixteco, Ballet del Refugio and Larger Than Life, while sampling delicious offerings from Sundance Kitchen & Cantina. Additional entertainment includes a 7-foot piñata from the Galleria White Plains and a crafts table.

Blockheads is at 40 Mamaroneck Ave. in White Plains. For more, visit blockheads.com or call 914-288-8070. The daytime events are being held on Court Street and Main Street in White Plains. For more, visit wpbid.com.
