Hummus dressings liven up salads

It seems like it has to be one of the most popular New Year’s resolutions.

Who hasn’t promised themselves to lose weight and/or eat healthier at the start of each new year?

For anyone who vowed to do just that in 2016 and is already struggling, perhaps it’s time to check out Hummus Salad Dressing from Hummusphere Food.

The company has combined its signature zesty, flavorful hummus with salad dressings to create some pretty daring selections.

Varieties include Triple Sesame Ginger, Smoky Black Bean Chipotle, Roasted Red Pepper Balsamic, Hummus Goddess and Agave Cracked Mustard (which is also suggested as a dip for pretzels).

WAG recently received a sampling of the line – and it certainly made our workday lunches a bit livelier.

The dressings, available in 12-ounce bottles for $4.99, are all-natural, non-GMO and certified both Kosher and gluten-free.

Sounds good, right?

Here’s a recipe, courtesy of Hummusphere Foods, to further whet your appetite:

Roasted Red Pepper Balsamic Grain Salad

  • 2 cups faro or quinoa, cooked
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small red onion, diced
  • ½ cup green olives, pitted
  • 2 eggs, hard boiled and diced
  • Mixed greens such as romaine, leaf lettuce and spinach

Combine all ingredients and top with Hummusphere Roasted Red Pepper Balsamic Hummus Dressing.

The dressings are available through Whole Foods Market, ShopRite and smaller retail health-food stores.
